He was predeceased by : his parents, Edward Trueland of Washington and Arthula Irene Brooks; his siblings, Violet Collins, Cliff Trueland, Ken Trueland, Virginia Bauman, Ervin Trueland and Janet Stubbins; his grandson Shayne Trueland; and his great grandchild Brittney Fisher.

He is survived by : his wife Ruth Downie Trueland; his children, Donald Trueland, Jr. (Katie), Dorothy "Dottie" Boiter (Jerry), Kathy Woody, Margie Trueland and Donna McGourley (William); and his sister Joy Allen.
