It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Floyd Wright of Cherryville, North Carolina, born in Cleveland, North Carolina, who passed away on April 7, 2024, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Newland Cline Wright and Vangie McSwain Wright; and his sister Meredith Eunice Wright. He is survived by : his wife Sara Hicks Wright; his children, Mary Alison Painter of Lake Norman, Carl David Wright of Cherryville and James Floyd Wright of Myrtle Beach; his brother Dean Wright of Hickory; and his grandchildren, Tyler Cline Wright, Dr. Charles "Charlie" Wright, Mary Katherine Henry, Andrew Floyd Wright and McKinsey Skye Wright.

A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 10th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the City Memorial Cemetery (300 E Church St, Cherryville, NC 28021).
