He is survived by: his wife Barbara Allen Hovis; his daughters, Heather Hovis of Shelby and Jennifer Hovis of Shelby; his siblings, Duke Hovis of Lattimore, Lynn Hovis of Shelby, Sally Brackett of Brown Summitt and Carol McArthur of Shelby; his grandchildren, Calen Brown (Jordan), Everette McClain (Kianna), Kiera Surratt and Ashanti McClain (Michael); and his great grandchildren, Iris Mellon and No'Ella Davis.
