With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jim Howell of Cherryville, North Carolina, who passed away on June 4, 2025 at the age of 84. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Jim Howell to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James E. "Pete" Howell and Virginia "Ruth" Ford Howell; his brother Kenneth Robert "Corky" Howell (Judy); and his nephew Bentley Howell. He is survived by: his wife Janice Stroupe Howell; his daughter Dr. Heather Porter (Joel); his granddaughter Kenzie Porter; and his nieces and nephews, Wesley Howell, David Stroupe, Donna Abee, Terry Stroupe, Rusty Stroupe, Mike Weaver, Cathy Stroupe and Cynthia Jones.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 9th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Carpenter Porter Funeral & Cremation Services (1100 E Main St, Cherryville, NC 28021). A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 10th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. The inurnment will be held on Tuesday, June 10th 2025 at the First Presbyterian Church (107 W Academy St, Cherryville, NC 28021).
