He was predeceased by: his parents, Plato Verlin Mead and Monta Lula Richards Mead; and his siblings, Lunette Cook, Lorene, Stringfellow, John Meade, Joyce and Eddie Benton.
He is survived by: his daughter Angela Mead (Nathan Brown); his grandson Elijah of Fleetwood, NC; his son Chris Meade (Renee) of Taylorsville, NC; his grandson Braxton Meade (Brittany); his great grandchild Julian; his granddaughter Chloe; his son Sam Meade (Robin); his granddaughters, Victoria and Megan; and his siblings, Gene, Carol Meade, Billy (late Gail Meade), Dale Meade, Keith Meade, Edith (late Raymond Walker), Linda and Louie Hull. He is also survived by numerous in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
