He was predeceased by: his parents, Jonah Hall Blackburn and Wilma Propst Blackburn; and his brothers, Tim and Bruce Blackburn. He is survived by: his wife Joan Huffman Blackburn; and his sibling's children, Douglas B. Blackburn, Jr. of Cherryville, Billy Blackburn of Fort Mill and Holly Thompson of Mt. Pleasant, SC..
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 9th 2025 from 1:45 PM to 2:45 PM at the Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home (405 N Dixie St, Cherryville, NC 28021). A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 9th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home Chapel (405 N Dixie St, Cherryville, NC 28021).
