She was predeceased by: her parents, Perry Arliss Kesecker and Kathryn Elizabeth Clark Kesecker; her husband Freddie "Fast Freddie" Ellis; and her grandson Christopher Lee Freels. She is survived by: her children, Robert Freels, Cheryl Powell (Durwin), Tammy Ellis, Karen Castle, Alicia Ellis (Burnice "Bam" Miller, III) and Cynthia Cruz (Jonathan); her stepson Freddie Ray Ellis (Kim Truelove); her sister Sandra Snelgrove; Sharon Howell and Faye Cook. She is also survived by nineteen grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren.
