He was predeceased by: his parents, Ivey Millon (Millon) and Emma Pauline Swink Millon; and his siblings, Larry Mellon, Harold Mellon, Marie Johnson and Helen Burgess.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Carolyn Cook Mellon; his children, Michael Mellon of Cleveland County, John Mellon of Lincoln County and Shirley Johnson of Cleveland County; his stepdaughter Angela Randall of Vale; and his siblings, Ricky Mellon of Casar and Carolyn McGinnis of Lincolnton. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 5 step great-grandchildren.
