He was predeceased by: his parents, Huemore Gibson and Ellen Kirkley Gibson; and his brother H. Kenneth Gibson. He is survived by: his daughters, Cynthia Clark (David) and Julie Gibson; his grandchildren, Miranda Bonds (Justin), Erin Farmer (Josh), Erica Moon (Derek), Billy Sutherland, Dustan Hinson, Carissa Sutherland (James) and Gracie Harler; his great grandchildren, Jared, Jason, Brooke, Cayton, Laken, Caroline, Andrew, Kinsley, William, Layne, Ashton and Joseph; and his sisters, Dianne Smith (Tommy Barringer) and Kimberly Gibson. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 30th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Whitley's Funeral Home (1748 Dale Earnhardt Blvd, Kannapolis, NC 28083). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 30th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
