He was predeceased by: his parents, Tillman Arthur Swinson and Bessie Emma Swinson; and his siblings, James Swinson, Edwin Swinson, Gracie Swinson Cook, Brenda Kay Swinson and Linda Faye Swinson.

He is survived by: his brothers, Ralph Swinson and Tony Swinson. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
