Michelle Dawn Lowery, age 31, of Salisbury, North Carolina, passed away on September 13, 2020, due to heart failure, cardiomyopathy, kidney failure, and pulmonary edema. Born on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 1989, Michelle brought love, light, and unwavering strength to all who knew her.
Michelle was the beloved daughter of the late Tina Coley Lowery and Cornelius Laymond Lowery Jr. From a young age, she faced life with courage and resilience, navigating many challenges but never allowing them to take away her generous spirit. Though she left school in the 9th grade due to bullying, Michelle later earned her GED—a testament to her determination and perseverance.
Michelle was a devoted and loving mother to her two sons, Jaylen Lowery and Isaiah Mcconneyhead. They were her greatest joy and motivation. She poured all her love and energy into raising them, protecting them fiercely, and doing everything she could to give them a better life. She shared her heart freely and often gave to others even when she had very little herself.
Michelle was known for her kind and nurturing nature, her honesty, and her warm sense of humor. She stood up for what was right and never hesitated to speak her mind. Despite her own struggles, she always put others first, especially her family.
She was preceded in death by her mother Tina, who passed away in 2017, and her father Cornelius, who passed in 2013. The two shared a deep bond, and Michelle was profoundly affected by her mother’s passing.
Michelle is survived by her two sons, Jaylen and Isaiah; her sister, Tonya Coley Morton, who helped raise Michelle’s children with love and dedication; and her extended family, including aunts, uncles, cousins, and those who were touched by her selfless heart.
Though Michelle did not have many friends, those who truly knew her saw the beauty of her soul. She carried herself with quiet strength and never stopped fighting for her children, her family, and herself.
Michelle will be remembered as a woman of heart—someone who loved deeply, gave freely, and lived with unmatched courage. Her legacy lives on in her sons and in the love she left behind.
