He is survived by: his sister Harriette McCanless Henderson of Kernersville, NC; and his children, Robert E. L. McCanless of Goldsboro, NC, Charles McCanless and Carol McCanless Brady. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 29th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home (1420 N Main St, China Grove, NC 28023). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 29th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A committal service will be held on Thursday, October 29th 2026 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the Salisbury National Cemetery (501 Statesville Blvd, Salisbury, NC 28144).
