It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Darlene W. Elks of Chocowinity, North Carolina, who passed away on October 21, 2025, at the age of 64, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Darrell Wayne "Tadpole" Woolard, Sr. and Glenda Jean Boyd Woolard; her husband Charlie "David" Elks; her children, Charlie Elks (Regina) of Chocowinity, Emilie Elks Pendley of Chocowinity and Brandon Elks (Andrea) of Chocowinity; her brother Darrell Wayne Woolard, Jr. of Washington; and her grandchildren, Grace Elks, Caleb Pendley, Jacob Pendley, Sam Elks, Haleigh Pendley, Charlotte Elks, Maggie Elks and Emma Elks. She was also cherished by her husband, children, and grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Paul Funeral Home & Crematory (900 John Small Ave, Washington, NC 27889). A committal service will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Elks Family Cemetery (1696 Mill Rd, Chocowinity, NC 27817).
