She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Vernon Hedrick and Ruby Inez Sigmon Hedrick; her husband James Helms; her brother Kenny Hedrick; and her grandson Joshua Helms.

She is survived by: her sons, Charles Austin Helms (Tammy Wyatt) of Claremont, Bruce Helms (Charlie) of Claremont and Brian Keith Helms (Wendy) of Conover; her brother Phillip Hedrick (Libby) of Claremont; her grandchildren, Nicholas Helms, Brandon Helms, Crystal Helms, Masi Sanders, Jaymie Helms and Sydney Helms; and her great grandchildren, Thomas Helms, Parker Helms, Brayden Helms, Austin Helms, James Helms and Easton Sanders.
