He was predeceased by: his father Wade Henry Phillips; and his wife Julie Letterman Phillips. He is survived by: his children, Joshua Phillips (Hayley) of Claremont, Brian Phillips (Patrice) of Arnett, WV and Sharon Wilder of Claremont; and his grandchildren, Brianna Phillips, Levi Phillips, Alex Wilder, Morgan Phillips, Carolina Phillips and Joshua "Malachi" Phillips.
