He was predeceased by : his wife Joyce Elaine Hollar McCray; his parents, Eubert Paul McCray and Grace Irene Little McCray; and his brothers, Gary and Larry McCray.

He is survived by : his children, Ricky McCray and Connie McCray; and his brother Kenneth McCray (Jean). He is also survived by nephews and nieces.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home (56 Northwest Blvd, Newton, NC 28658). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 20th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the St. Peter's Lutheran Church (6175 St Peters Church Rd, Conover, NC 28613).

Memorials may be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Conover, NC or Bethel Lutheran Church in Claremont, NC.
