It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Louise Shook Laws of Claremont, North Carolina, who passed away on January 8, 2026, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, George Lee Shook and Pansie Louise Hartzoge Shook; her former husband Flint Waters; her husband Glenn Laws; her son Ronald Waters (Babette Waters); and her siblings, Charlie Lee Shook, Clara Mae Hipps, Marshall Wade Shook, Jerry Wayne Shook, Orville Eugene Shook and Clyde Elmore Shook.
She is survived by: her children, John H. Waters (Patricia M. Waters) of Plymouth, MA. and Glenda Laws Thornburg (William) of Conover; her sister Judy Spencer (Phillip) of Catawba; her grandchildren, William J. Waters (Renèe M. Waters) of Plymouth, MA, Daniel J. Waters (Heather D. Waters) of Barrington, RI, Andrew "Flint" Waters, Ashley Reynolds of Catawba, Willie Thornburg (Amy) of Conover, Matthew Thornburg of Conover and Nadia "Cherie" Copeland (Brad) of Claremont; and her great grandchildren, Kai N. Waters, Kael R. Waters of Plymouth, MA, Lucas Ali Jones of Newton, Everett Thornburg of Conover, Teddy Waters of Barrington, RI, Sophia F. Waters of Barrington, RI, Harper Grace, Sawyer LeeAnn Copeland of Maiden, Kaleigh and Morgan Thornburg of Conover.
