He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Vernon Hedrick and Ruby Inez Sigmon Hedrick; and his siblings, Kenny Hedrick and Glenda Hedrick Helms. He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Slaughter Hedrick (Libby); his children, Michael Ray Hedrick (Geneva) of Charlotte, Kimberly Gantt (Bradley) of Conover and Tammy Setzer (Shannon) of Claremont; his grandchildren, Kelsey Broome (Brandon), Abbey Gantt, Casey Setzer, Carlee Setzer, Sierra Hefner (Michael), Caleb Hedrick and Micah Hedrick; his great grandchild Hadley Jane Broome; and his caregivers, Aryn, Sonya and Kathy.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Bethel Lutheran Church playground fund, 5759 Bolick Rd., Claremont, NC 28610 in honor of his grandchildren and great-granddaughter.
