He is survived by: his wife Shelia Eggers Helms; his children, Ricky Allen Helms (Sandy) of Newton and Angela Middleton (Evan) of Connecticut; his stepchildren, Jody Rockett (Valerie) of Claremont and Wendi Rockett of Claremont; his siblings, Mark Helms of Newton, Steve Helms of Newton and Kim H. Prather; his aunt Linda Medlin of Claremont; and his grandchildren, Ricky Allen Helms II, Dhoni Middleton, Lucian Middleton, Nico Middleton, Chelsie McComas, Atticus Rockett, Tristan Pacifici, Brentan Pacifici and Victoria Pacifici. He is also survived by great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM at the Burke Mortuary of Maiden (1101 E Maiden Rd, Maiden, NC 28650). A funeral service was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
