She was predeceased by: her husband James Lewis Childers; and her siblings, Roger Lail and Judy Cowen. She is survived by: her son Jeffery Smith (Angela) of Claremont; her brothers, Larry Lail (Patricia) of Vale, Wesley Lail (Deana) of Cherryville and Paul Lail of Vale; and her grandchildren, Kaleb Smith, Marisa Smith, Sierra Mullins, Justin Clements, Katie Clements, Haley Clements and Ginny Clements.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 17th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the Ebenezer Lutheran Church (1001 Shiloh Rd, Catawba, NC 28609). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, January 17th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. The inurnment was held on Saturday, January 17th 2026 at 2:45 PM at the same location.
