It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Arthur Newton McDonald of Clarkton, North Carolina, who passed away on April 26, 2026, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Angus McDonald and Sadie Jackson McDonald; his wife Diane Hester McDonald; and his siblings, Michael McDonald, Reba Kay McDonald, Janet Lowrimore, Joan McDonald and Susan McDonald Hood.
He is survived by: his girlfriend Loretta Howell; his son Henry McDonald (Heather); his siblings, Jeffrey McDonald, Diane Evans, Brenda Lewis and Andrea Wilkerson; and his nephew Jason McDonald. He is also survived by four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
