It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Darrel Robert Melvin of Clarkton, North Carolina, who passed away on February 26, 2026, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Gladys Clayton Melvin and Colon Franklin Melvin. He is survived by: his fiancée Becky Tidwell; his children, Colon Melvin (Cassia) and Brandi Venema (Peter); his sisters, Patricia Robinson, Deborah Melvin and Pamela Bahm; and his close friend Greg Priest.
