He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Otis Shaver and Bessie Smith Shaver; his wife Doris Jeanette Nelson Shaver; his children, Frances Kay Shaver Hopkins, Karen Jeanette Shaver, Stephen Paul Shaver (Gayle) and Sam Alexander Shaver (Chris); his sisters, Ethel Dennis and Katherine Roberts; and his grandchildren, David Wayne Hopkins, Ashley Hopkins Williams, Jeremy Paul Shaver, Wendy Gayle Shaver, Courtney Guyton, April Smith and Lindsie Shaver.
