James Lanier Obituary

We are sad to announce that on June 1, 2022, at the age of 86, James Lanier of Clarkton, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Raleigh Edwards and Essie Duncan Lanier; his sister Shirley Wright; and his grandson Ethan Cain. He is survived by : his wife Hilda Storms Lanier; and also, Sonia Floyd, Alicia Lanier, Renee Lanier (Bradley Thomason), Diana Bastasch (Mark Bastasch) and Susan Walker (Bobby Walker). He is also survived by seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

After an emergency room visit amidst the pandemic last October, through sheer determination he was able to get back on his feet and this spring planted (with much assistance!) his garden to provide for the family.
