Matassa leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Matassa’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around her. Though she is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support she offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Matassa will carry forward her memory in their hearts.
She is survived by: her children, Kayla Moore and Aarin Johnson; her mother Martha Cokley; and her brothers, Phillip Cobb and Pierre Cobb.
A memorial service was held on Sunday, September 6th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Sandy Plain Missionary Baptist Church (903 Farmers Union Rd, Clarkton, NC 28433).
