He was predeceased by: his wife Nancy; his son Brian Blackburn; his parents, James Blackburn and Louise Blackburn; his siblings, Elizabeth Priest (Libby), Sarah Baldwin Kaukola, James H Blackburn and Willie Blackburn; his nieces, Cathy Bell and Vicky Baldwin; his close friend John Daniel Lashley Jr.; and his pet Freckles.
He is survived by: his daughter Stacey Cauller (Court); his grandchildren, Nora and Izzy; his sister Shirley Ward (Billy); his sibling's children, Christine Marlowe (Raymond), Amy Bailey (Sammy), Cheryl Batten (Glenn), LaVane Bullard, Anne King, Jean Farrow (Mike), Charles Priest, Wade Blackburn (Jean) and Stanley Blackburn (Wendy); his extended family, Kendra Cremin and Shonda Johnson; and his caregiver Amber Benton.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Mount Zion Baptist Church (9512 Red Hill Rd, Whiteville, NC 28472).
