He was predeceased by: his wife Linda Putnam. He is survived by: his children, Patricia Prindle, Greg Putnam and Christine Putnam; his grandchildren, Kelly Navarro, Ashley Prindle, Sarah Putnam, Tyler Putnam, Caitlin Lyttle and Bubba Lyttle; his great grandchildren, Aubrey Lynn Navarro, Alexandra Navarro, Khloe Prindle, Eleanor Navarro, Tristan Navarro and Malakai Torres; his children-in-law, Lyle Prindle and Michelle Putnam; and his brother Marshall Putnam.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Wounded Warrior Project in David Putnam's memory.
