With sadness, we share the passing of David Rudolph Wells (Clayton, North Carolina). David, born on February 26, 1933, passed away on October 5, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Family, friends, and acquaintances remember David for his warmth, thoughtfulness, and the moments shared together. While he will be deeply missed, the influence he had on the lives around him remains. Loved ones will reflect on the time spent together. David’s memory will live on in the hearts of friends and family, a lasting reminder of the connections and experiences he brought to the world.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Wells and Agnes Wells; and his wife Elgie A. Wells. He is survived by: his sons, David Wells (Marlo) and Don Wells (Jennifer); and his sister Janie Godwin. He is also survived by six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Chapel of McLaurin Funeral Home (12830 Clayton Blvd, Clayton, NC 27520). A reception will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions in his name be made to the Johnston County Firefighters Association.
