She was predeceased by: her parents, John Henry and Rita Grimes Boyd; her former husband Grady O. Stephenson, Sr.; her husband David L. Curl of Pittsboro; her daughter Sharon; her grandson Blake Carroll; her sisters, Betty Ellis, Carolyn Adams, Diane Adams and Margaret Boyd; and her grandparents, W. O. and Fannie B. Grimes of Benson.
She is survived by: her children, Susan S. Carroll (Ricky) of Raleigh and Grady Stephenson, Jr. of Garner; her granddaughters, Jessica C. Clinton (Brad) of Willow Spring and Jenna C. Hogsed (Garrin) of Murphy, N. C.; her stepgreat-grandchildren, Ralston and Hadley Hogsed; and her brother David W. Boyd of Laurinburg, NC. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, July 8th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the McLaurin Funeral Home (12830 US 70 Business Hwy W, Clayton, NC 27520). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, July 8th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
