She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Benton Austin and Flora Mae Austin; and her sister Melba Austin Powell. She is survived by: her significant other Donald Byrd; her daughters, Donnita Jones (Gary) and Amanda Jones (Daryl); her grandchildren, Justin Bradley (Kandace), Chase Bradley (Sarah) and Kenneth Jones (Brittany); her great grandchild Evelyn Jones; her siblings, Larry Austin of Knightdale and Margaret Baker of Four Oaks; and her pet Tiger Byrd. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
