He is survived by: his wife Bertha B. Smith; his children, Janie Evans, Connie Hinton (Alfonso), Sheila Smith, Harvey Smith Jr. (Jacqueline) and Angela Tate (Love); and his brother Walter Smith. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; 24 great-great grandchildren.
Viewing will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Steven L Lyons Funeral Home (1515 New Bern Ave, Raleigh, NC 27610). Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the Eagle Rock Christian Church (6471 Falconwood Dr, Wendell, NC 27591). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 at 10:00 AM at 1530 Creech Rd, Garner, NC 27529.
