She was predeceased by: her parents, Ralph Austin and Lily Canaday Austin; her brother James Victor Austin; and her husband Dr. James Hargett Ellerbe. She is survived by: her children, Beth Ellerbe Hubbard (Bob) and James Austin Ellerbe (Sarah); and her grandchildren, Canaday Hubbard Green (Michael), Robert Yates Hubbard, Austin Hargett Ellerbe (Christina), James Crandale Ellerbe, Lily Caroline Ellerbe, Ellerbe Elizabeth Green, Blakely Jacquelynn Green and Emma Jane Ellerbe (Austin Blake Ellerbe).
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 16th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Clayton (411 N Fayetteville St, Clayton, NC 27520).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name may be made to the First Baptist Church PO Box 35 Clayton, NC 27528 or to Transitions LifeCare 250 Hospice Circle Raleigh, NC 27607.
