It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Stewart Evans of Clayton, North Carolina, who passed away on May 1, 2026, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold L. Evans and Myrtle Dodge Evans; and his wife Sharon Evans. He is survived by: his children, Brenda Mautz (James) of Erwin and Brian Evans (Kristen) of Clayton; his grandchildren, Michael Kintner, Scott Kintner, Angel Evans and Abigail Evans; and his great grandchild Elias Evans. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and close friends.
In addition to flowers, memorials may be made in Mr. Evans memory to the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield, North Carolina.
