With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jean Byrd Lee (Clayton, North Carolina), who passed away on January 24, 2026 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Alonzo Byrd and Nellie Rose Phillips; her siblings, Belle Byrd Allen and Charles David Byrd; and her siblings-in-law, Joyce Blackley, Joyce Lee, Cathie Lee, Rudolph Allen, Ray Lee, Proctor Lee, Ernest Lee, Percy Lee, Troy Lee, Ricky Lee and Ernest Blackley.
She is survived by: her husband Raymond Earl Lee; her children, Brenda Lee Eason (Mike), Raymond Earl Lee, Jr. (Lisa) and Jonathan David Lee (Erin); her grandchildren, Ryan Eason (Ashley), Trey Lee, Dylan Lee, Ty Lee, Haley Lee, Caleb Lee and Michael Lee; her great grandchildren, Kai Eason and Zoie Eason; her siblings-in-law, Faye Byrd, Shirley Lee, Nola Wayne Lee, Peggy Lee, George Lee (Susan), Fred Lee (Texie) and Hubert Lee (Bonnie); and her caregivers, Betty Horne, Lisa Gardner, Tina Kelly, Donna Miller, Megan Coats, Connie Dienhart, Penny Bradish, Gwyn Holding, Jean and Alzheimer. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family would welcome memorial gift contributions to the First Baptist Church Clayton Organ Fund or to the Hocutt-Ellington Memorial Library.
