She was predeceased by: her parents, John Ralph Godwin Sr. and Lena Pearl Strickland Godwin; her husband John Louis Pope; and her brothers, Gerald Godwin and Jimmie Godwin.
She is survived by: her daughters, Lisa Allison (Paul) of Clayton and Teresa Pope (Rick Hufham) of Smithfield; her siblings, Betty Norris of Four Oaks, Ruth Strickland of Smithfield, Lois Wilkins of Durham and John Ralph "Bud" Godwin Jr.; her grandchildren, Hannah Stiles (Dale) of Smithfield, Kylie Erickson (Aaron) of Charlotte, Payton Sanderson (Dylan) of Swansboro, Tristen Allison of Clayton, Austin Lee of Clayton and Grayson Allison of Clayton; and her great grandchildren, Lakelyn Sanderson and Claire Stiles. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
