He was predeceased by: his grandparents, O'Neill Kenneth, Hazel Brown Lyles, Stephen Andrew and Ethel Browning Harvey; and his brother Christopher Mark Lyles.
He is survived by: his former wife Elizabeth Lewallen; his son Michael Scott Jr.; his parents, Jack Lyles and Frances Lyles; and his brothers, Linc Lyles (Jennifer) and Jason Lyles (Andrea). He is also survived by cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, September 20th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Grace Community Church (923 M Durwood Stephenson Pkwy, Smithfield, NC 27577).
