She was predeceased by: her parents, Anthony Catalano (Tony) and Evelyn Antonucci Catalano; and her sister-in-law Susan Catalano. She is survived by: her husband Joseph Carey; her children, David Carey (Leatha) of Benson and Debra Carey of Clayton; her siblings, Joan Burmester (Rick) of Yorktown Heights, Dominick Catalano (Agnes) of South Salem and Anthony Jr. Catalano of Yorktown Heights; her grandsons, Robert Carey (Sarah) of Niceville, Jeremy Carey of Mechanicsville, Antonio Navarro III of Raleigh and Max Carey of Charlotte; and her great grandchildren, Emma, Madeleine, Robert Jr., Violet, Annabella, Emmitt and Grayson.
A reception was held on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the McLaurin Funeral Home (12830 Clayton Blvd, Clayton, NC 27520).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to the Alzheimer's Association.
