He was predeceased by: his father Marshall R. Kornegay; his son Frank Cates; his wife Ginger Kornegay; his brother Mark Kornegay; his nephew Brandon Kornegay; and his brothers-in-law, Roy Moore and Greg Kornegay.
He is survived by: his mother Joyce Perry Kornegay; his sons, Allen McCray (Maggie) and Jack Mccray; his granddaughter Katie McCray; and his siblings, Marshall Robert Kornegay, Jr., Elaine Kornegay and Dale Moore. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
