With profound sadness, we say goodbye to David Francis Planitzer (Clemmons, North Carolina), born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. David left this world on December 23, 2025 at the age of 82, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Regis Planitzer and Rose Will Planitzer; and his brothers, Regis, Alan and James.

He is survived by: his wife Rita Dorsey Planitzer; his children, Laura Kobet (Anthony), Lynn Mays (John) and David Planitzer (Melanie); his grandchildren, Robert Kobet (Jessica), Peter Kobet (Emily), Daniel Kobet, Steven Planitzer and Lauren Planitzer; and his godchild Michele Montemurro (Carmine). He is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
