He was predeceased by: his parents, John Roy Hire, Sr. and Nellie Mae Calcutt Hire; his sister Mary Frances Hire Gentry; and his parents-in-law, Thomas K. and Lera Carter Marshall.
He is survived by: his wife Madeline Marshall Hire; his siblings, Jeff Hire (Melissa) and Becky Akers; and his friends, Mike Wall, John Wall, Doug Brandon and Bill Vogler. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
