He was predeceased by: his parent Lolabelle Farmer Hughes; his former wife Gilda Jan Hughes; his brothers, James Rob Hughes and Eugene Farmer Hughes; and his father James B. Hughes.
He is survived by: his wife Deborah Tate Hughes; his children, Audra Lynette Taylor (Jason), Michael Richard Hughes (Danielle) and David James Hughes (Kathy); his grandchildren, Eloise, James, Natalie, Trevor, Lindsey, Jakob, Owen, Griffin and Colin; and his siblings, Stephen Randal Hughes and Janette Magee. He is also survived by loving great-grandfather to his six great-grandchildren.
