She was predeceased by: her parents, William Dain Miller and Mabel Miller; and her siblings, Harold Miller and Martha Miller Ferkel. She is survived by: her husband James Monroe Hire; her sons, Brett Proffit, Craig Osborne and Brandon Hire (Shannon); her grandson Lucas Hire; her siblings, Betty Miller Stevens (Dennis) of Linthicum, MD, Rose Miller Anders of Independence, VA, Linda Miller Delp (Larry) of Sparta, NC and Richard Miller of Sparta, NC.; and her close friends, Mark and Dianne Klevinski. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, August 30th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Silas Creek Chapel - Hayworth-Miller Funeral Homes & Crematory (3315 Silas Creek Pkwy, Winston-Salem, NC 27103). A memorial service was held on Sunday, August 30th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
