He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Phillip Mace, Sr. and Ada Vera Greene Mace; and his siblings, Jessie Shytle, Bill Mace and Max Mace.
He is survived by: his wife Lynn Hovis; and his brother Jerry Mace (Judy) of Raleigh. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
