We announce the death of Douglas Anthony Patterson (Climax, North Carolina), born in Burlington, North Carolina, who passed away on October 31, 2026, at the age of 63. He was predeceased by: his parents, Maggie Jane McNeill Craigmiles and John Wesley Patterson; his brothers, James "Peter Rabbit" Patterson (Angie), Larry "Jay Bird" Patterson and Howard Kermit "Mac" Patterson; and his father-in-law Marvin Dietlin.

He is survived by: his wife Paula Patterson; his children, Gregory Smith (Latonda) and Ashleigh Patterson; his grandson Gregory Smith Junior; and his siblings, Darell Patterson (Nancy) of Burlington, NC, Meco Woodbury (Kevin), Toni Greir Christoper (Pastor Michael Grier), Mary Craigmiles and Kimyatta Willis (David) of Michigan.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 6th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the McClure Funeral Service (1030 S Main St, Graham, NC 27253). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. John's Baptist Church (4201 Alston Dr, Climax, NC 27233).
