He is survived by: his wife Peggy Thomas Brown; his sons, Johnny Ray Brown, Jr. (Rebekah) of Climax, NC and Joseph Hughes Brown (Kendra) of Ramseur, NC; his mother-in-law Shirley Thomas of Elk Creek; his grandchildren, Chloe, Lucas, Aria, Sawyer, Harper, Owen and Oliver; and his brother Stephen Brown (Mary) of Sugar Grove, VA..
