She was predeceased by: her husband Billy Martin Whitaker; her parents, Floyd Worth and Nannie Smith Kirkman; and her siblings, Wilma Kimbro, Mary Brown, Peggy Whitaker, Jesse and Jay Kirkman.
She is survived by: her children, Sandy W. Cox (Alan) of Climax and Greg Whitaker (Teresa) of Charlotte; her sisters, Betty Burton of Burlington and Doris Kirkman of Climax; and her grandsons, Seth Cox (Emily) of Sophia and Zachary Whitaker of Charlotte. She is also survived by one great-grandchild.
