She was predeceased by: her parents, Gibb Weeks and Katie Odum Weeks; her husband Carl Edward Southerland; and her siblings, Edna Jackson, Clara Brock, Loreen Bradshaw, Coleen Westbrook, Woodrow Weeks, Roland Weeks, Franklin Weeks, Thomas Weeks and William "Bud" Weeks.

She is survived by: her daughters, Cathy Cole (Curt) of Potters Hill, NC, Brenda Matthis (Bobby) and Peggy Deans (Dewayne); her grandson Ray Southerland (Debbie) of Clinton, NC.; her sister Rose Gainey of Clinton, NC; and her grandchildren, Tessa Eaddy (Jason), Chance Cole (Jade), Katelin Howard (TJ), Justin Matthis (Tiffany), Lindsey Faircloth (Neil), Laura Warwick (Samuel), Blake Southerland (Marianne) and Taylor French (Forrest). She is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren.
