He is survived by: his wife Sonya Cruz Strickland; his children, Angel Cruz (Stephanie) of St. Cloud, FL, Lucas Cruz (Zuane) of Alameda, CA, Carlos Cruz (Maria) of Clinton, NC, Benton Strickland (Michelle) of Hagerstown, MD and Timothy Strickland (Tiffany) of Southport, NC; and his brother Terry "Shag" Strickland of Clinton, NC. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.
