She was predeceased by : her former life partner Thomas Samuel Cornwell, Jr.; her granddaughter Stephanie Hales Brogden; and her son-in-law John Hales. She is survived by : her children, Carole Cornwell Hales of Clinton and Mike Cornwell (Debbie) of Sunset Beach; her grandchildren, Brad Hales (Diana) of Clinton and Thomas Cornwell; her spouse Melissa Stuckey (John) of Walkertown; her grandson-in-law Reid Brogden of Apex; and also, Hayden Marshburn (Lex) of Wallace, Caroline Brogden of Chapel Hill, Samuel, Evelyn Brogden of Apex, Ella Cornwell of Castalia, Michael Lewis Cornwell (US Navy), Evan Stuckey of Walkertown, Emily Pope (Eric) of Clinton and Steven Godwin (Kelly) of Myrtle Beach, SC..

Visitation was held on Monday, April 15th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the First Methodist Church (208 Sampson St, Clinton, NC 28328). A funeral service was held on Monday, April 15th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, April 15th 2024 at the Springvale Cemetery (Aka Clinton City Cemetery) (103 Raiford St, Clinton, NC 28328).

Donations can be made in memory of Barbara Cornwell to Comfort Care at SRMC and also to Backpack Buddies at First Methodist Church.
