It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bobby George Matthis of Clinton, North Carolina, who passed away on March 16, 2023, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Leondias Matthis and Mamie Elizabeth Fryar Matthis; his son-in-law Anthony Williams; and his siblings, Janie Kersey, Annie Laura Cannady, Elizabeth Dudley, Doris Saunders, Marie Walters, Tom Matthis and Leon Matthis.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Absher Matthis; his children, Carol Williams, Howard Matthis of Clinton and Gene Matthis (Crystal) of Clinton; his grandchildren, Zachary Williams (Star), Ashley Williams (Ryan), Kristen Spell (Justin), Tyler Matthis (Kelly), Stephanie Matthis, Austin and Miranda Matthis; his stepgrandchildren, Kelsey, Joey and Eli Hicks; and his pet Bo. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
